Frustrated with anger and pain, the dragon sends fireball after fireball plumeting into the tunnel.

However, with  the oxygen gone from the tunnel, the fireball barely reaches the ground, and fails to flame out to the sides to engulf Ravin who is watching the psychic leach start to take permanent residence in Daru's mind. Ravin pulls out two shurikens and without throwing them, starts slashing at the shield daru put up. again, these shurikens would easily slice through any normal armor, and the more energy diverted towards the shield, the quicker the leach will burrow into a permanant residence. (only by ceasing psychic abilities for a minute or so will you be able to loose the ethereal creature, although if you wait too long, you will pretty much be stuck with it...or, well there is another way. I might suggest a tactical retreat at this point) to make matters worse for Daru, the air inside his psychic bubble would have to be running out soon.

Daru senses this leech and lets his psychic shield down. Unfortunatly for Ravin, the dragon had recovered from the attack and finished breaking into the tunnel, now since the sky can be seen above from the gaping hole, fresh air filled with oxygen floods down into the tunnel. Two puffs of smoke steam against Ravin's back because the dragon was right behind him.

From the shadows further down the tunnel, Danu smiled, trying her hardest not to laugh. She had left the vincity when the white snout had poked itself through the manhole for she had no desire to fight three foes without her full strength. But now it seemed her enemies would finish eachother and she could finish up if any of them were left standing.
How puny and arrogant humans were, she thought sourly. They lived for not even a century, and yet they thought thmselves all powerful and supirior.
She wasn't sure if she liked the hybrid either, but at leaast she could sympathise with him. She too was now a halfling, though it had been a curse put upon her that made her half human.
Silently she moved further from the battle, and changed back into human form. In this form at least, she may have one advantage. She was as nude as a newborn babe, and any male would be hard pressed not to sympathise with a sobbing female in the deep dark sewers.

Several disadvantages were now presenting themselves. for starters, air was now mixing with the poison gas that had once filled the vicinity. second, the light from the night, however faint it might be, rendered his night-vision less effective, although the light level was still low enough to give him the advantage. third, and most importantly, there was a dragon almost directly behind him, and while the gas might still hold him from sticking his snout too far into the area, he would still have his fireball attack.

thank the Gods (or whatever forces Ravin was not a firm believer in) that the dragon here was not like one of old. Truly that would have been a feat. Larger, faster, stronger, more agile, and too often capable of possesing magic. Ravin himself had in his life only defeated two, although truth be told, there were few beings in all of history who could have called themselves a true dragon lord (somebody who speaks with dragons and lives to tell the tale) and even less who could claim dominance.

on the other hand, dragons in old would have never allowed any being, no less a human, to ride them. that had been unheard of even a mere thousand years ago. but the humans had wiped out all the real dragons in a standard genocidal purge which Ravin had seen again and again over numerous races, including the one in which Ravin shared his backround.

Yes times had changed, but back to bussiness. unfortunately, Ravin could not afford to stay very long in the area. the dragon's ability to do area damage was just too threatening. a hundred men fighting him, well that he could handle, but a fireball was not something he could take lightly, even with his defenses.

hopefully the demon would provide a usefulness. if nothing else, she was not attacking. that meant that the human was the instigator of this battle, as they often were. if Ravin killed the human, than his job was done. the girl, would have no reason to pursue a battle. and that, of course, was why Ravin had been hired. to keep the peace.

the area was too dangerous at the moment. even though the boy would have his shield down, he might have a fire protection without the psychic shield. Ravin threw the two shurikens at the boy and kicked off, flying backwards down the tunnel, away from both the boy and the dragon, taking him directly towards the demon, who Ravin was by no means unaware of. atleast the boy would have to dodge those shurikens old-school this time, and the poison gas would not only blind him, but also make the boy unable to breath. he could not risk another second with the psychic leach, which was only now starting to loose its hold.

"d**n!" he exclaimed at the lost opportunity. Without that dragons threatening blow lingering behind, that boy would be dead right now.

Danu curled her legs under her when she heard the sound of someone approaching. It would do her no good to run, and changing back into a demon would just sap more of her depleting energy.
Her long, dark chestnut hair fell around her face, and she looked up with wet green eyes. "I've done nothing wrong," She sobbed. It was true, she hadn't. It was the human that had initiated the fight, not her. She was tired, and though she may have wanted a fight earlier, she didn't now.

Daru quickly ducked as the shurikens flew over his head."As soon as this leech is off of me..." The dragon looked at Daru as if asking for an order."Shoot fireballs after them!" Daru barked. And with that thirteen fireballs started plumeting down the tunnel.

While deflecting the shurikens, Daru's axes were sliced in half by the weapons. they now lied imbedded in stone with less than half of each shuriken sticking out of the tunnel wall. still, this would have to be a fight for another day. Ravin could not fight a dragon in closed quarters. as he approached the demon at over 40 mph in mid flight, his hand grabbed her around the torso and he broke the glass vial contained in his other hand.

suddenly both him and the naked woman were miles outside the city, in the woods, still moving at a good 40 mph. Ravin used a tree to stop himself and  dropped the girl on the ground. as he did, Danu noticed that his hand was cold, very cold. his hand could not have been more than 40 degrees in temperature.
He pulled the hood of his cloak back over his head, once again hiding his pure white skin.

"Now you may have your fight, assasin". he said, and started walking away...

"Were did they go!" yelled Daru, his voice echoing in the now empty tunnel. He quickly scanned the area and still saw nothing. "They must of transported out of here......."

Name: unknown
Age: 23
Height: 5'7
Weight: 102
Location: edge of the city limits
Specie: Necromancer
Specialities: Necromantics, possesion
A necromancer who wears a specific item that allows his soul to reposses any living being of weak willpower even after he has been defeated. he also has the ability to posses any dead being. he walks around with two possesed great-wariors as well as about ten undead or posessed warriors at all times. he often changes his name, however, he is currently going by the name Asheel

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asheel stood outside the city looking down. Yes, this would be a good place to start. He would start with the city officials. Always start with the high ranking political officials in order to  avoid any attention and hero types. The last heroes he encountered had managed to defeat him. As long as he evaded anybody too powerful, he would be just fine. He continued to watch the city lights below.

Suddenly he sensed a presence. Not exactly nearby, but near enough. Actually it was two. Both souls were very old, and both souls were very strong. Hopefully he would not encounter either of them. He and his small escort walked towards the city and hoped that neither of the two souls would be returning to the city...

Daru looked around the tunel for any sign of were they could have gone. "Nothing," he said as he mounted on his dragon. "time to patrol to see if they are anywhere." And they flew up into the sky casting a dark shadow and the ground below.

OOC: What two souls are you talking about? Any of our characters?

OOC: the two souls are Ravin and Danu

Asheel stopped. Not another two. With flying? Both? No. One soul was directly over the other. A rider, and something big. A dragon perhaps? Maybe. This might have been the wrong city to go to. Both of these souls were strong, although the rider was clearly young, he was not weak. Now there were four possible foes. Four foes too many.

Asheel knelt down into the grass and started to prepare his things. This could turn ugly at any time, and Asheel was not one to be caught off gaurd.

Ravin floated barely above the tree-line. As predicted, there was the dragon-rider crcling his way above the city. Good. This fight would be settled outside of this city, And Ravin would earn his bounty. All he had to do is let the Demon and the boy fight each-other. Whoever won, it would make no difference. Ravin floated back below the tree-line. He stood for only a second before preparing to head back into the city. He would not fly above the trees as usual. Best not to be spotted by the demon-slayer. Instead he would head back under tree-cover. Ravin prepared himself to take-off. He had to re-arm himself, not to mention getting back his Shurikens which should still be imbedded inside the tunnel. If some idiot happened to pick them up, they could easily be sold for a mansion or two. that would definately be annoying.

Flying higher still, Daru noticed the assembly of people looking down on the city. "Better check this out," said Daru and the started toward Asheel, picking up speed as they went.

Great, just perfect. They had been seen. The dragon-rider was heading right for him. One of the souls outside the city was also returning. This could definately turn into a problem very soon.

Asheel stood up and now he was dressed for battle. Not that anybody would notice underneath the cloak. Hopefully Asheel would simply be able to send the dragon-rider on his way without conflict. Neither him nor his men looked anything other than human. But if it came to combat, Asheel would be ready.

He stood there watching the dragon-rider approach. First he would try with diploacy, then with trickery, and if all else failed, with force as well.

Daru and his dragon stopped right next to the gathering of people. "What are you doing here?" he asked reaching for one of his axes. The dragon's eyes locked on the group too. Both of them studied the group very carefully.

As Ravin approached the city, he spotted the Human as well as a new band of men. Something was off however. They were normal enough to the eye, but Ravin's thermal-vision was unable to pick up a difference in temperature from the men, and the air around them. All except for three of them. the rest were only about forty-degrees in temperature. That either meant that they had some way to cloak themselves from Ravin's Amulet, or that they were not actually alive. Either of the two meant trouble. Still, they were still outside of the city, and Ravin needed to get back his weapons. He flew off in a different direction, and with the Human occupied, he flew down to the city, only a few feet off the ground the whole time.

A very tall man of about 6"3 stepped foreward. He had broad shoulders and wore a Blues cape. His head was shaved and his deep tan stood out. "We come from Westenvale, a small town about twenty miles from here. Every year at about this time we come in for supplies." He said as Asheel turned his thoughts into words through the man. "If there is any problem about the legitamacy of our motive, we have many people in the town who would be glad to testify to the accuracy of our statement. If tere is anything else you need to know, I would be more than happy to answer your questions, we don't want any trouble." the man finished...

Daru listened closley but just as he was about to reply the dragon sniffed the air filled with their scent. Then the dragon bared his fangs and growled."It appears my dragon doesn't like your scent."

As the dragon-rider spoke his words, the large man broke a bottle of very un-attractive perfume in his cloak. Every other party member followed in suit at the exact moment, but in such a way that would not be visible.  "the perfume we wear is specifically that of a large Wyvern. It keeps wolves away from our sheep. Dragons however, taking it as competition, increase the hostility towards the wearer. I assure you that we will take a bath and wash it off the second that we reach the city. We don't want any trouble"

This was getting annoying. That perfume was expensive. There was not much more of it left. Fortunately, there was no need for large doses, only enough to be smellt when or if the dragon-rider got near.

(P.S. Asheel and his two gaurdians are not undead, but simply posessed. Everything on them including smell and temperature appear normal. His gaurdians wear a blue cape and a black cape while Asheel wears the same thing as the rest of the party, which is a black cape.)

Ravin reached the tunnel where they had fought only minutes before. His Shurikens were still there, imbedded in stone. He went over and pulled each of them out. At least this battle had taken place under ground. No witnesses, and very little damage. He would have to thank the demon for that later, maybe.
