The First Ones - A slightly new take on Elves Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

The First Ones, The Kan-Yow, are the only non constructed beings to know the face of their Creator God. They were born as the world was being made. Tutored by their God (Kanchiyonnaho), they developed a perfect society immersed in the magic of the world. The Kan-Yow breathed magic, they are saturated with it, and they are bound to it as the world itself. As the Gods have withdrawn from the Mythic Lands, as the blessing of Time has graced the World,  they have become the guardians of The Magic and The World.

The Monroi Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

Pride. Strength. Skill.
These are the values of the Monroi, woven into their very being - for them, battle is not just self-preservation, but a need.

The Dunshar Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

Seldom does one see a Dunshar “nude”, as an amorphous masses of jelly.  They can animate mud, earth, stone or metal, and use them as a body to shield their fragile self.

Elves of Tallarn Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

Elves are said to be girly, elves are said to be gay. What does this popular opinion stem from? Hardly their lack of facial hair. Note: Not quite a new take, but something to think about.

Children of HighFather Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

These are Elves of a different sort. Not quite a new take. The HighFather is the father of all his race. He is immortal, powerful, and a strong physical presence. His memory is quite powerful- it is the races way of immortality - to be remembered by the HighFather.

True Trolls - A New Take On Trolls Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

I was spending some time reading some Rune Quest, Changeling, and Castle Falkenstein material and remembered why I hated most of the Trolls found in the majority of “Psuedo Medival, Eurpoeanesk Fantasies”.  So once again, I charged up my rant muscles and….

The Urwhor- A New Look At Orcs Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

Since the New Look At Dwarves was such a success, I decided that I would try an overhaul of another fantasy standard which I find boring, the Orcs. I’m using the Orcs only as a very loose base.

Hewdamian Humans Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

I don’t know why we are the outcasts of the lands. We out number the others and our armies are superior. We fight no more than the other races have in their historys. Why do they have contempt for us? It is because they fear us, the fear that we are better.

The Lyrans: A New Take on Elves Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

These people could exist on a world with mythical elves, as they are not another race… they are humans.  They are an ethnic group that is far removed from “normal” human stock. They have many traits (physical and cultural) that make them very different.  Given Lyran culture and ways, if the Lyrans “went away”, a few hundred years later people would think of Lyrans the same way as we think of Elves…  some strange mythical peoples.

In a long-lost age, a party of adventurers are frozen into stone by the stare of some gorgon-like creature. An unscrupulous rogue, coming across the frozen party several centuries later, decides to haul off two of the statues to decorate his den. Upon his death, an artisan friend of his claims a statue and sells it to a rich merchant, passing it off as his own work. Years later, the merchant gilds the statue in bronze and re-sells it at a much higher price. After passing through the art markets for many decades, the statue ends up in the hallways of a mage academy. Imagine the chaos and confusion when a young mage's spell happens to break the curse of stone, returning the adventurer to life several centuries after his petrification! Is he interrogated by historians? Driven mad by the change of times? Or does he set off on a quest to find and liberate his other frozen party-members?
