Once the purview of sci-fi and dystopian literature, rule be machines is increasingly becoming a goal of the Cosmic Era
The study and application of technology and human activity
Sometimes I think that a new rank system is in order, but am unsure how complex it should be. This is a simple fantasy military rank system(insignias are described) that should be fun to just contemplate.
A leader in cybernetic and genetic augmentation, it is little surprise that most nations have adopted the Nipponese scale for grading the abilities of augmented human operatives.
The basic economy of the Atlantic Federation
So often, magic is used for either raising Undead, hurting people in some way, or healing people. Nothing else. When there are so many other uses for magic in any magic-rich society. Uses like...
In the Petrol Era, identity theft was simply the stealing of personal information and financial fraud. In the Cosmic Era, it is something entirely different.
The main commodity in the Cosmic Era is data and communication, in the form of social media, entertainment, advertising, and other electronic sources of information. The spread of this data is measured in a unit known as a meme (also spelled meem)
After rolling stats, Bleakwood characters are given certain perks. They get 4 ability points, plus another 2 if they choose to have a dark side.

Direct Neural Programming had been the dream of many education "reformists" and technocrats. The perfect way to teach skills, divorced almost completely from the requirement that human teach human. One single avatar of a skill could be used to propagate that skill until it became obsolete. Billions were poured into its development and marketing, thirsted for by corporations, the military, and politicians, each group wanting the surface and the sinister. But it was not to be.
"Absent gods, here's another bunch of them," Chav drawled, irritation in her voice.
"I hear them," I grunted, shifting my back against the tree to find a more comfortable angle. Well, I'd heard the horses' clopping, any how. I opened a single eye, and sure enough, Chav was right. Four of them this time, green as grass. You wonder if they really thought wearing brown homespun tunics and trousers were going to fool anyone into thinking they were Just Folks ... while riding Sadasian stallions and those gorgeous tooled Mithlantri saddles.
Unfortunately, they also heard us. The chickling at their head spurred over to us, and raised her arm in salute to me. "Captain? My name is Amberstar. We heard in Redwave that one of the orc columns were headed this way." She grinned at me with her cheeks puffed out like a bleeding squirrel. "We want to help!"
Joy and rapture unbounded.
Collectible Duel Games are the predominant form of non-sexual, non-spectator electronic entertainment in the Cosmic Era.
“Top, my name is Brock Figglewater, I knew your aunt. I tap a piece of pillow that belonged to your aunt, and I jump belongs to you now. You see, I just bought this Stimech, and I jump it was stolen by a bruce named Horace. Horace was a pream tattle of mine. Three weeks ago, I let Horace take out my pream stimech to go bounce along the billibong looking for bubblely-bobs to bring to the spitter’s patch. Horace says he ran into some boom sauce and had to hop out of the stimech in just a tater sack. I cannot jump that Hoarace bounced 5 kims across the pillow in a tater sack. I have tapped spitter dops on the Big Under pillow for years, I ain’t no trainer. I ain’t rigged to swallow dry sand, and I washed Hoarace. But I need my stimech back, and I ain’t got the press to go all over the Big Under boiling Hoarce’s peals of truth. I need your help.”

“Two forgotten places there be- Still and Limbo,
Still where Time is forever Still,
Limbo where Naught is ever Remembered.”
An explanation of gods; what they are, where they come from, how their power works, how they affect mortal life. Part of my main setting, first introduced in Primal Essence, Primals, and the Creation of the Realms.
In the years before the advent of arcanotechnology and dimensional fatigue events, teratology was the study of abnormalities and biological deformations. In the wake of the second renaissance, it became the study of exomorphs, extradimensional entities, and most prominently, teratomorphs, more commonly and vulgarly known as kaiju.
Normal punishments tend to involve either fines, imprisonment, amputation or execution, but not all crimes are going to be bad enough to be executed for, and imprisonment is often a waste of resources. Here are thirty punishments for those who get out of line and get caught and convicted.
Goodmen, Gentles, my Lords, in the best exemplification of the heroic stories you have found the Villain, battled him and his minions, plundered them of their treasure then returned victorious. But Now you discover a greater horror.. Lawyers.. Lawyers...
Inspired by Ria Hawk's winged mushroom picture:
The winged mushrooms (Lerreta Meia) are a species of giant insect indigenous to the leafy areas of Udnalor, Kingdom of the Gnomes. Outwardly they appear much the same as ordinary giant mushrooms, and they graze in the bulbous fungal glades. However, this is merely an elaborate camouflage: the insect beneath is a fungivore and prone to fly off when it encounters another creature. Sometimes gnome farmers mistake them for crop mushrooms. They're in for a surprise when they do.
