The cramped and tightly knit Palestra -- the University district of the City -- is a law unto itself. It is dominated by the great University, and by the thousands of students, scholars and hangers-on attached to the school. The University has no dormitories, and many of the buildings and businesses in the district have upper stories crammed with any who do not commute from other areas of the City.
Here are five locations which can add some spice to your city's university district.
This slum reveals the darker face of the City. Shanteytown is exposed to the elements and unprotected by wall or guard. A seedy mixture of driftwood shacks, impromptu shelters, lean-tos and camps thrown up on old ruins, and filled with the underclass and those with nowhere else to go, Shanteytown is for many the end of the line.
Large glass domes are popular in pulp science fiction, covering alien cities, protecting the last cities of man from a ruined and scorched earth, and providing sky lights for space stations and habitats.

Dedicated to Scras and his Star Whale sub that was my inspiration for setting
The Stolen world is totally wrapped around Scras' Star Whale sub. As I cast about for a direction to go after I ended my very long running Mysantia game. I took the basic concept of the Star Whale and am using as the basis of all the game logic of the setting. What would a world look like that was subjected to regular apocalypses every 1000 years and why is there no information available to the pc's on how to stop them.
A general overview of the Stolen World and a codex of the submissions so far
A cul-de-sac in arcanotechnology, the Singularity Plant is a power station that is more dangerous than it is valuable.

One of the most common and well recognized SimSense parlors of the Cosmic Era
A record of the origin of the Realm, the gods who've played the biggest role in its development, and the mortals and immortals who have lived there. Part of my main setting, first introduced in Primal Essence, Primals, and the Creation of the Realms.
(Fair warning, this is a longer one. For your convenience I've divided it into 2 parts. Here's the second.)

Firstly, I am a sci-fi reader and I hope to meet success with my writing.
My favorite series of books are Larry Nivens RINGWORLD tetralogy (Ringworld, RingWorld Engineers, The RingWorld Throne, and RingWorlds Children)
For those that havnt read the ring world is the greatest artificial structere ever discovered.
A ring, its circumference equal to earths orbit, it is built around a sol-like star. Shadow squares halfway betwwn the ring and the sun provide 15 hours of night in a thirty hour day. 70 days equals one falan (one full rotation of ring world. The inner surface-the one exposed to the sun, is terraformed and is one millionkmwide cntrifugal force provides gravity, and rim walls 1000km high keep the atmosphere in. Population of RNH(ringworld native hominids)
estimated in the trillions.
The origins of who built it and why are too sticky to get into. But the ringworld , millions of years ago, was populated bt A race called Pak Protectors. Protectors are ancestors of all homo sapiens. they populated ringworld with homo erectus, but left no predators in the ecology. hence, hominids evolved into every ecological niche. (Vampires, Carrion Eaters, Giant Herbivores, Small Carnivores, some built great technologies and went interstellar. Oh, and ringworld is 300 million times the surface area of earth. post if youre interested, Ill elabortae on native species and alien vistors
