This was the Citadel’s first attempt at a Quest. It was done in the old version 1.0 days in our forum, because we didn’t have a location category yet.
At this time an old man, one who told the Prince wondrous tales during his childhood, walked upon the bridge and witnessed the prince commit suicide, saw him fall into the water. “This is the Bridge of Fates. I foresee great sorrow and happiness. This bridge shall never remain neutral, shall know tears of joy and the blood of innocents”.
All the streets in zone 2 are paved with a smooth water stone pulled form the shore of the lake. Some of the nicer houses have gutters to wash the refuse from the streets down to the harbor, but the lower houses have no such luck at having a free service such as this to clean their streets.
Houses vary from size to size, the smaller houses are closer to the warehouse and waterfront districts in zone 1. With the nicer and much larger houses being toward the better districts of zone 3. These usually house richer merchants or guild officials.
All the streets in zone 1 have been paved with red brick cobble stone. The rain gutters lead down to the dockside and the harbor where the dirt and refuse is washed away by rain and by a Service crew designated by those in the Civic District. Most of the cleaning duties are done at night when the streets are devoid of travelers. Different service crews handle different zones. One is designated for each zone as the duties required to keep up the districts and zones different slightly per zone.
Star lake is the city in which Blackrose Academy is built on. The city was originally a small spot on the way to the school but has grown into a vast city sprawling acorss the island like a weed. The city has been divided into four Zones, each one housing the different districts of the city itself.
To call TearDrop City a city is to be generous. It is one of the largest collections of SkyFolk on the north part of the east coast of ThirdLand. It gains its name from the TearDrop shaped rock on the natural set of the stone pillars not far off shore.
De Maddenville sprawls across a sixth of the island of Banhoesea, and was built when the De Madden Company was young, around a bay that provided a handy deepwater port for traders.
It is strange to have a city between two towns, especially when the two towns were there first and are “famous”, but such is the way of Sand City.
Sodius is The White City, known for its White Gold - Salt.
Bridgedale is the most magnificent walled city in the Marches. It is a sprawl on both sides of the Nargwal. The city continues to grow outside the city walls. The inner cities on both sides have three walls with the river closing the square. The walls are tall structures of masoned riverstones. The same multicolored round stones are used in almost every building in the city.
The city of Kaldarien is a bustling port on the Isle of Wildenmeer, often called the isle of the twin duchies, and is the capital of the southernmost duchy.
The City of Walkabout Creek is based within the only pass in the Mountians of Quartz. All around it is a sixty foot wall of solid but perfectly clear quartz.
Silver Gate is built behind a natural harbor upon six and a half steep hills. It leads to the hills and their silver mines.
The entire city has a soft glow: the reflected back light from the massive light egg stone up the estuary.
The city of Chedru is one of the strangest Elventi cities in existence. It echos the traditional giant HomeTrees and catwalks between them of "normal" Elventi city. Yet there is no forest here. The Elventi were deposited here, far from the green trees and mountains of their traditional homelands. They have made their Way here.
Nestled between a plateu and a river that soon leads to the sea, is the Elventi city of Anshenestardaywadaden or more literally Place Between Sunset and Falls. This city has no purpose other than being beautiful. Anshenestardaywadaden is a riot of color, between Elventi magics and the near tropical climate, there are hundreds of beautiful flowers here. It is best known as a place of waiting for another perfect sunset.
It was some sixty years ago, a great flood on the river caused a lot of damage. The baron ordered masive works to be undertaken, to widen the river’s channel above its usual level. The “over-channel” spreads a few hundred yards on both shores of the river. This was to be a sufficient safeguard against any flood.
If it was not for the city’s stance on tradition (and prohibitively heavy taxes on the buying or selling of property outside one’s family) these homes would of been abandoned or been a slum. However the founding trading families built homes here decades ago and have adapted in a fine fashion since then.
The Antioch river is slow and broad in most places. Due to some quirks of biome geography, the best place for riverside docks between the headlands and the sea is Antioch. Given the biome’s convient access to a number of other biomes (and paths to said biomes), it is only natural that a trade city with a dock would thrive here.
Old Town is anything but old and stuffy. Though the city is trying to be respectable, at its roots, it is as rough and tumble as they came in the day. You can see what the city was like “in the day” by strolling Old Town by waterfront.
Among the assortment of organized criminals who live in the great city, few command greater fear the Moonbeard Order.
They of course do not call themselves that, but have earned the moniker from their fashion of dying their large beards with lye to produce a distinctive crescent shape running from earlobe to earlobe. This is meant as a taunt for their enemies, for it clearly outlines their throats.
They also wear garb similar to the northern tribesman, carefully tooled leather and showing multiple, colourful glyphs.
They are feared due to the intense discipline that their group maintains, due to their origins as a warrior-sect.
They serve as paid thugs, enforcers and assassins within the city, with the client simply ordering a service from the organization, not hiring an individual. Apart from making the request and providing payment in full in advance, the order completes the assignment themselves.
Their order has many moles through the organizations of the city, and more than a couple of nobles. As such, no organized move has been made against them since their chief activity is directed against other members of the crime world. It is said that their services have been useful for those in power as well, further protecting them from persecution.
Their religion holds that their time in this world is vanishingly brief, and largely unimportant except as training for the Great Battle.
The order is very utilitarian with weapons choice - they simply use the tool needed for the occasion, though not without having trained extensively with it beforehand. Daggers, garrottes, swords, bows, battle axes, polearms, wagons, even siege engines have been used to carry out their contracts.
