The Wordfishes of Hloth, known also as the Sshpah, are strange composite-minds of the Hlothian jungles.
The River Dragons are a beautiful, sleek race. Their irridescent scales are soft and almost invisible under a fast-racing current. As long as a long riverboat, they propel themselves upstream with occasional flaps of their powerful wings.
"When the dolphins and whales propel themselves into the air, it is a great spectacle and joy to watch. When the Salwar launch themselves, it is a terror."
Perhaps one of the oldest of the humanoid races, the Pelamids are a sort of missing link between terrestrial humans and aquatic merfolk.

The roar of the dragon echoed through the cave, causing the knights to stumble back in fear. “Don’t worry,” said the mage who was with them. “It’s a water dragon, and from the state of the river outside, it is in poor health. It’s just trying to scare us.”
Few have ever seen the incomprehensible entities known as Trench Dwellers, but their lethal biomechanical machines remain, guardians of a long-forgotten empire.
Legends even to the merfolk, the reclusive Trench Dwellers are a race alien and strange beyond human reckoning.
Twisted and cave-filled are many of the coastlines of Acqua, scoured by the mighty waves and sucking currants and tides. If you are not careful when approaching one of these caves, you might well not be able to dodge in time as one or more spines spring out at you.

The fishing was good, but everyone else was wary. These were Condori waters. ...
The crew was pulling up a net when it happened. The claws first appeared on the railing. Golden eyes preceeded the broad snout. Gregus grabbed a pole and advanced upon it. The creature spat at him, covering his face in a green slime. He fell and screamed. The creature looked at all of us slowly and deliberately. Assured that we were no threat, it simply stretched over a bit farther.. secured the huge tuna we had just pulled in with its maw, and slid back over the side. We were in its waters. It only wanted its due. .....
Gregus died the next day of a terrible fever and strictures. His face had been scared and develope terrible white sores. Our limited magics were no avail to stop it. We decided to secure the body in a case and return it to the see when we left these waters.

Where the ships float, empty, and the ocean lay wide and empty, where the northern lights shine and the winds chill live the Gesthari. Wraithlike predators who ride the storms.
In lakes throughout the East, these lake squid are as plentiful as fish.
On a certain continent, nearly all kingdoms worship under the same pantheon. However, in the southern reaches the peoples take a much more...liberal stance on their Gods. Statues are nude, and very anatomically correct, and icons are often startlingly brazen. For instance, the icon of (insert name), the goddess of love, is an image of two nude twins embracing in a passionate kiss, signifying the love of both family and partner. This is a source of unending outrage and offense for the Northern churches, whose traditional and modest take on religion is constantly at odds with the near-blasphemous ideals of the Southerners. While this is not enough to provoke outright conflict, there is more than enough simmering discontent and long-held grudges between the two hemispheres.
