Since the New Look At Dwarves was such a success, I decided that I would try an overhaul of another fantasy standard which I find boring, the Orcs. I’m using the Orcs only as a very loose base.
This is a compilation of the races of Hewdamia. Each is unique in their own way with certain strengths and weaknesses.
The name Onkorr given by locals means burning, which again has two meanings;burning bites and burning bodies.
Spiders of the moonlight, weaving webs of smoke, mist, and moonbeams.
These creatures have the uncanny ability to feel the ripples of magic, so they travel through planes, rather than distance to find food.
They are beautiful in an icky fuzzy spider way.
There are large and small crickets, each was unique.

These little buggers are the bane and blessing of adventurers. If you find a location with lots of ogone’s, you know there is magic and magical treasure about. However, since the average adventurer has more magic items than the normal area, the flies will hang around the adventurer and their items.
Creepy, Crawley, Buzzing, Digging, Biting, Building, Sticking, Jumping, Clicking, and all the other things these small things do.
I don’t know why we are the outcasts of the lands. We out number the others and our armies are superior. We fight no more than the other races have in their historys. Why do they have contempt for us? It is because they fear us, the fear that we are better.

These people could exist on a world with mythical elves, as they are not another race… they are humans. They are an ethnic group that is far removed from “normal” human stock. They have many traits (physical and cultural) that make them very different. Given Lyran culture and ways, if the Lyrans “went away”, a few hundred years later people would think of Lyrans the same way as we think of Elves… some strange mythical peoples.

Treller Vines are impressive enough in the jungle, where they wind along trees adding a riot of color. Then they moved to a new neighborhood.
It is a squeeky clean flower.
Scarlett Call: Also known as Blood Tangle, Tryms Mark (Trym being a god of Battle), Hunter’s Eye,Krell’s Mark (Krell being an Evil Spirit whos worship has to deal with blood), Widow’s Tears, Scarlet Call, and Earth’s Wounds. When blood has been shed in anger or waste, The Scarlett Call will be there.

Pixie flowers are small flowering ground cover. The plant itself is a creeping vine that can cover the side of a building like an ivy.
Mages/ wizards and such use cards (playing cards or tarot cards) as training tools. The patterns created by certain layouts of cards are mnemonic devices to teach key elemental associations and paths. With such interesting names as the Tree of Life, Phoenix's tail, Rythm of Heart, and Balance of the sphere, there pattern represent the matrices used by magic users to focus and present power. Spell processes can be represented by a sequence of cards.
So mages will often be seen handing around hands of cards.
Wizards will have a deck of cards with them. Since cards were used to train wizards in legerdemain, Since they have cards with them, they frequently know how to use them. Guild magic users often have a knack for fancy shuffles, palming cards, and a variety of card tricks and games.
