Many is the thriving mine that has been brought to it’s knees by an infestation of Jewel Worms, resulting in cave-ins, loss of productivity and the threat of a major disaster if work continues.Miners fear these as much as pockets of poisonus gas or earthquakes, and with good reason.
In Gaeaioa’s wings, inspiration is physical.
This is a compilation of all the creatures I have in the world of Hewdamia.
Bulral have the frame of a wooly mammoth, but are entirely covered with white fur like a polar bear. Instead of a single trunk with long tusks, Bulral have no tusks and four trunks surrounding their mouth, and each trunk is barbed with small thorns. They are fierce and solitary hunters who have a bizarre friendship with the hotheads.
Hotheads are small badger-like animals that inhabit the frozen lands of the north. They are cute, furry, playful ... oh yes, and quite dangerous if you’re not careful.
The majestic, draconian riding beasts of Tarran.
The wasps are about the size of a finger, they are bright green with long hairy backlegs.

The Giant Mussel is probebly the only creature in the world that can, if you are not careful, lick you to death…
The authors of Mediaeval bestiaries were not merely concerned with providing a description of creatures. No, for them, everything in Creation had a purpose - nothing had been made without an ulterior aim: the edification and instruction of sinful man. So, each creature described is not merely an animal but a living parable, imbued with moral or religious symbolism.
These seagoing creatures are as dangerous, if not more so, than their swamp orriented cousins.
Darbeasts are fearsome jungle beasts. They thunder through the jungle defending their territory from any perceived threats. They swim through the rivers and lakes, their massive bulks buoyant, eating grasses and spearing fish. Their strident calls are known to cause other beasts in the jungle to run.
