Moon Water Jewel was a woman of breathtaking beauty, so no ordinary gift would do.
"Hell hath no fury like MY RIGHT FOOT!" Shardath yelled as he stomped upon the holy ground.
Yet another cloak of shadows…
Griffin is the brother of the King. He used to live in the royal court at the capital city, but that all changed when his wife was called to testify before the court against a friend of Griffins. She lied under oath to protect her husband about a hidden issue. Her lie was discovered. She was summarily executed and her husband was reprimanded not punished, being the brother to the King. His offense was very minor even in this kingdom, but this opened his eyes to the fact that his family’s kingdom despite being lawful and protective of all its subjects, it was not as good as it portrayed.
At the estate sale of one wealthy merchant, a seamstress found several lengths of black silk cord, the kind that is used for trim and piping. A local seamstress purchased those odd lengths and the remaining bolt cheap and turned out two or three cloaks using the thin black silk cord as trim. An evil seems to follow them, though nobody knows it.
Will the mask smile for you or frown? Do you know who you are? Do you really?
“Heel!” “Roll over!” “Sit!” “Sit Up!” “Beg!” “Speak!” Cue Evil Laugh.
The teeth of a hungry wolf.
The blood of a murderer.
The cloth of a false saint’s burial shroud.
All of these things and more are used in the creation of a Caedea.
King Coloman had a problem.King Charles (known as the Fat King behind his back) was coming to take over his kingdom. It was not that Coloman had started any trouble, it was just that the Fat King was as greedy for new lands to add to his over growing empire as he was at the dinner table.Whilst the Fat King was not a good general himself,he had several talented subordinates who were, as well as an army three times the size of Coloman’s.
King Coloman called his Royal Council together to decide what to do.Simply using assassins would not work. There were six decent generals, and at most an assassin might be able to kill two,and that would mean he or she would die in the attempt. Reingold was put to work to create a magical weapon that could kill all six generals, without being so dangerous that it endangered all those who were making it.
He considered golems (too many guards) and various other ideas, and came up with a cloak that had hidden powers.A supposed traitor was the man who gave the Fat King the cloak. The cloak made the Fat King feel wonderful and healed a small wound and some boils that he had, but within an hour, all six generals dropped dead, their strength sucked into the Fat King. Without his generals, the Fat King lost the Battle of Silverock Pass and was killed in the rout that followed. The slightly damaged cloak was recovered and locked for safety in the King’s Treasury, only to be stolen a decade later…
In a crowded marketplace, a man is standing on a soapbox, orating. Some of the crowd are cheering, some hissing, some standing around saying "I can't hear a bl**dy word he's saying". It's a hustings for an election. The PCs can either leave, or stay and listen. If they do the latter, then they can vote too, and they might get quite involved in the cheering. Depending on who wins they might get quite involved in the post-election brawl too...
There are numerous possibilities with this encounter: the PCs might end up talking to one of the nervous candidates before their speech, and offer encouragement and support. Of course this candidate may well turn out to be someone with outspokenly unorthodox views, and the crowd don't take kindly to s/his supporters. Or maybe the seemingly innocuous candidate turns out to be a complete racist, and the PCs wander off embarrassedly, pretending they weren't talking to this person five minutes ago.
