Ancient Egypt, Land of the Pharaohs: What will you find among the eternal sands?
In a fantastic world of magic, it can be assumed magic is in all living creatures to some degree, and a part of it is with concentration usable for magical purposes - humanoids are typically such users.
It is only logical, that for instance animals should have this magic, too.
Where will we be one day, and what will we believe? How will we consider the world around us, and the people? How will we treat the known and the unknown, and possibly other intelligent lifeforms?
Whether close or distant future, something will be similar, and something… is very likely to be different.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Forsooth!! (whatever the hell that means)
Ever since I bought a copy of Jeffrey Kacirk’s Forgotten Words tome, I have become somewhat obsessed with, well…forgotten words. As you read these bizarre, often-silly, and sometimes downright sensible words, phrases and their meanings, you may discover what I did. It seemed that almost every term I came across, instilled some sort of fantasy rpg idea in my head.
I propose a challenge for all word-lovers! Pick any one and do a submission featuring and inspired by said word. Simple enough right? I tried to pick some of the jucier ones.
This can be added to in three ways. Firstly as mentioned, as an entire submission based on one word or phrase. Secondly, more funky archaic terms can be added alphabetically as scrolls, and thirdly, just by using a word or two in future submissions.
If nothing else, these words can be used to pleasantly pepper one’s writing!
Are you a friend of adventures that bring you closer to the ultimate truth, that help you to learn your world, and teach you a valuable lesson? Or at least provide you with useful means upon your further journey? Then, my friend, better stay clear of the following things…
Tyren isn’t just another world for players to RP in. No, this setting goes far, far beyond that.
Torture…pure and simple.
It’s time to break free of the lute’s death-grip
I’m trying to think of alternatives for game-openings, to replace the standard “meet up in a tavern” or “adventuring group applying for a job” techniques. I know these can be easy ways to get people playing, but I’m certain there are more interesting ways…
Sometimes, you just need a new plot.
Sometimes it is necessary. Sometimes it just happens. Whether to a PC or NPC, a curse is something nasty that changes their life significantly, and not for the better. You were warned.
Reading through the animal thread and a conversation with Scrasamax lead to the creation of this thread. For the Adventurer with a taste for exotic meals…may I present. "The Official Strolen Citadel Cookbook".
GM’s block is a serious problem in the roleplaying world. Related to writer’s or actor’s block, it prevents the GM from being creative and enthusiastic about their work.
Everyone has their own take on what roleplaying games truly are. This is mine.
This is more an overview of the subject, than a complete article. As one of my PCs had pottery in background, I tried to research it a bit, but given up after seeing way too much data.
Falconry or Hawking is the sport of hunting with a trained bird of prey, usually a hawk or falcon. It has been practiced by a number of cultures through out the centuries.
Looking for some information that might explain what is going on? How you can get involved? How to play?
Let’s face it. GM’s need to be organized. When dealing with organization, one should look towards business… as an efficient business is a more profitable business.
Expansion from the Horse Brass item: Specific Armor charms.
Cooling Touch Charm: protects horse against extreme heat, and fire, magical and mundane
Jove's Favor: tin charm shaped by a lightning bolt that protects a horse primarily from natural lightning, but also potentially from lightning based attacks. In real life, lightning kills quite a few horses and cattle a year.
Hermes' Blessing: gold charm that grants the horse magic resistance, and perhaps immunity to cantrip level magics.
Vulcan's Steed: This large iron charm in epic fashion renders the steed invulnerable to iron weapons. Such things clatter off of the animal's hide like twigs.
