I absolutely love it. It brings something unique to the fantasy realm in a replicable and very usable fashion. Great for thieves, acrobats, assassins, ninjas and even more adventurous characters.

Humor: dwarf parkour
horror: tiefling parlour

This seems like the sort of thing I would be inclined to drop on a totally untrained group. You're caught in the trap? Oh, well, there's a belt down there. Better hope you don't kill yourself with it.

It could be kind of a neat super-hero gadget, too. Go to Comment

Aside from a smidgeon of typos, (go/gone mulbury/mulberry) these are marvelous!

Now these can explain a lot of kung-fu movies, wherein our hero, after kicking lots of butt inside the evil dojo's courtyard, merely leaps up and over the (30' or so) wall to escape. Sometimes, the bad guys leap after him. I guess they stole a few belts.

I'm mixed on the belts negative effects on normal physical skills. Seems slightly un-monkish to focus on a magical belt so much as to have to train a lot just to eliminate the negative effects thereof. On the other hand, it's a nice way to limit the belts in game.

I love these more from a thieves-in-big-city angle, where rogues are literally parkour-ing about, amidst the rooftops. Great visual, that.

Anyway, simple, very useful, great idea!

You seem ready to play a kung-fu cinema rp! :-) Go to Comment

As advertised: short and sweet, and plenty useful. A spirit trapped in a net pleas for the pc's to free it - but why was it there in the first place? A certain individual requires a spirit captured for interrogation and the pc's must find or have made one of these nets. A town is under imminent threat of rampages ghosts of ages past and requires the pc's to go and find as many people capable of making these nets to create the largest one yet: one which can envelope the entire town! Time is running out...! Go to Comment

I'm open to questions - I had not really planned fleshing these folks out much more then they currently are as an outworldly threat appropriate to where I was going to use them. Go to Comment

Y'know the thing about scalable hive intellects, is that once they reach critical mass, in theory, they no longer pose a problem because they become so smart that they figure out a way to become pure energy or something, become pacifists and what not.

Though it seems like these ones starts out as energy?

I could definately see these as evolving additional forms, like humanoids to fill infiltration purposes and what not, but they don't seem to have much motivation other than curiousity, though in truth that could go a long way. Some kind of study humans or the effects of an apocalyptic event on humans. Something along that line to make em a long term campaign threat, they could start out as seemingly a mindless natural force and then evolve. Go to Comment

A-Trill-ia, this seems a waste to go and destroy; but a Mad Warlock (Male Witch) could make this a new layer of Limbo, if only he could gather a coven to do it...
