Wow. I was all set to click 3.5 for this Romeo, until the last paragraph..wow! Insidious!
Hmmmm...What would you get if you crossed Lothario, Don Juan, and Cassanova, with "Dear" John and Demogorgon?
Perhaps at some point, the wronged women find one another, and form a vengeance-cabal of sorts against the lovable Lothario, in essence becoming unknowing demon-hunters. :D These women of influence can make things dicey and difficult for Valdus, as he seeks out further lovers among the nobility. Not bad, it just... doesn't do it for me. The instant effect that makes anyone your slave, then going out in a suicidal rage. How many people will go out before he is noticed? And once someone other than him knows, how long will it take until it is used against Nurin himself?
Nice write-up and all, just not my thing. Nice to have our evil Archmage back, though! Go to Comment
its manipulative, its deceitful, its the sort of thing we look forward to seeing! I like the beads being of limited quality, perhaps Nurin will have been working on some other things with his unlimited budget, or has he gone completely political? Go to Comment
You could get together about 50 really awesome knife fighters and as many Shadows of Mercy you can get and just try and swamp the Mogrolyth, I guess. You know, when someone gets killed, someone else picks up the knife and takes their place?
I sort of doubt you could find enough suicidal mercenaries, though. Maybe you could hire The Rampant Lions Company, or some suicide cult or something.
Or you could just throw the knife at the Mogrolyth and hope it hits. Go to Comment
I would have to agree with angryscotsman an "invincible" enemy is never a good idea the players would get discouraged for one. I saw many good compromises for it in the discution dismember meant while not permently killing it would be an effective way to keep it out of trouble then there are source and opposition methods in other words the key to getting rid of the thing permently may be though necromancy itself or some obscure or obsurd method of healing Go to Comment
A rather large armed group slowly walks the road. Unless you get to see what they transport, you could think it is a caravan with expensive goods, or the soldiers escort someone important. But this is a prisoner transport, on the way to mines, criminals on their way for punishment.
The soldiers may be willing to talk, the captain will have a few questions on you and the road, but they will keep distance, and part soon.
