This feels like a excerpt from something more expansive. Its very good save for the run-on sentences. Some of these were so long as to be distracting. Go to Comment

Interesting people, though I have a few questions:

As mentioned in the previous sub, a new Jul-Ghose may arise from one of the spawn in the event that he is killed.  What would happen if the spawn that ascended to Jul-Ghose's place was bonded to a P'Cheela tribe member?  Would the human be consumed, or transformed in some way?  Or would the relationship remain mostly unchanged?  I can imagine that the human might at least be granted immortality, if the lifetime bond was magically enforced.

More information on the bonding process and consequences would be appreciated.

Well written, though I want to know more.

So, just what kind of cult is this? Do they eat sinners, or what? If you make it less mysterious and more GM/DM friendly, I will vote for sure! Go to Comment

Maybe we need to some discussion about how this text is realized in the world? It is written on walls and memorized, but by who? How is the text interpreteted? If you want to keep it open ended and don't want to give it a more "generic" utility you could give several examples of how it has been used in your game or in the world you designed it for. I read the linked subs regarding this post, and they are very promising and peak my interest even more. I like the ideas behind the world. I recognize that it is a formible formating issues to make all those concepts that you have developed for your world into intresting stand alone posts. Good luck. Go to Comment

I have to agree with AG here - need a bit more detail or subs linked to make more sense of it. Go to Comment

Its nicely written, and the books themselves are pretty and well-composed enough to bump my vote up to a three. But there just isn't enough content to warrant a higher vote, as my commenting predecessors say. If you ever re-look at this (which I'd say is unlikely, since it's kinda old), then I'll revote, but until then... Go to Comment

I like Val's notion, breaking the knives to cause the Serpent injury. I like the idea as a whole as well, each knife adding slowly to the final body count needed to resurrect the Serpent. Well done. Go to Comment

Indeed - these are cursed knives that make sense. I'm assuming that their destruction would cause anguish to their creator.

Nice job, though could use a bit more details. Like who is the Serpent of Darkness and more stuff about their history. Go to Comment

This could make for an interesting recurring villain. A knife that continues to find and strengthen a succession of bad guys, with the players not realizing right away that it is the weapon which is the real enemy.

Oh man, Demon Ticks! I hate ticks, but this sub is nice and fun. The Kudzu reference reminded me of the first LARP I went to, Endgame in New Hampshire, were we had to fight hordes of semi-intelligent Kudzu plants. Good times.

I like the idea itself. Demons should have ticks. Makes sense to me. And of course, demon ticks should be of the properly "effed-up" parasitic variety, like these here are. Good.
