This is actually a damn useful toy! The simple effects are logical in their purpose, and you can really play with them.

Okay. I really like this one. It strikes a cord in me.

It makes sense. It is not overly powerful, but useful in its own way. And it just smacks of that randomn wierdness that populates real life.

It is one of those forgotten magic items that would be in a Garage Sale from Hell, but without all those adverse problems that most items would have. Go to Comment

Must say - I love this - quite brilliant in its simplicity

I also love the backstory - a kindly old uncle spoiling a favourate neice a little - I can really see this happening

Definitely gets my Wish I'd thought of that award

So, 3/5 for a quirky little item + ½ for some really useful effects + 1 for a believable backstory
Final score 4½ / 5 Go to Comment

Very cool! I always knew that there's a reason I cling to all the toys of my childhood, despite the best efforts of my wife. You never know what might come in handy (or enchanted). Go to Comment

This was a great submission, I had no problem reading it from start to finish. It kept my attention all the way through. The one thing I would object to though, is the feel what it feels kind of thing, that's a tad redundant since it's just a sock you wear on the hand. And if it works when you don't wear it, then you'd constantly feel trapped if you keep it in a box. I'm not seeing that mentioned, but like I said, if it only works when you wear it, then that abbility is redundant in my mind. Other than that, great! Go to Comment

WOW! I like the story of Sorezeck and wish I had the idea you had. I am a screenwriter, do you mind if I put him into a movie I'm creating? Go to Comment

Awesome write-up, a pleasure to read! Not sure why but his single-minded end mission of finding his father was a little less than I expected with such a complex character. With the unpredictable humans, and since it was their fault he was in this predictament, I was expecting a little more animosity towards them. Not the hostile, killing kind as this dragon is refreshingly self-aware, but more like, "Lets see what we can manipulate these idiot humans into doing that won't be blamed on me." I would have saw him doing odd things to start some small wars between cities and such just for a little payback while he was on his way to his greater mission. Dragon scale "pranks" that would cause quite a bit of disruption which could continue to prove his superiority over them even in his current state.

Really enjoyed reading it!

(PS. 2m = ~6.5ft, not 8 -- you could just say just shy of 3m and we would all get it without the conversion) Go to Comment

Nice piece, and, a bit overlooked actually, it deserves far more comments.

Quite well done - I like the story and writing (apart from my personal dislike of color-coded dragons.. seperate discussion). Go to Comment

Netlander's comment on 2008-08-04 12:59 PM
Hmm... a good point. Mucking with the affairs of humans is something the character I imagine would do, and it would give him a bit more depth, as well as game usability. Sub revised.

Oh, and I really do stink at the metric system. Sorry. Go to Comment

Perhaps "Hear me roar!" is a bit too connected to House Lannister? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_Lannister )

It is a blog and all too ( http://nabihameher.wordpress.com/ ), but, I dunno, personally I think it reminds me too much of the Lannisters.

But do go on. I just wanted to comment on the intro text. :) Go to Comment
