He should have been called Oporr the Mad or perhaps some derogatory term or sobriquet like The Kin Slayer, or something like that. I like the idea, and rarely are dwarves described as fecund and having many children. I like. Go to Comment
I figured that for dwarves, "the lame" already carries a strong negative connotation. Spartan-esque thinking. Born lame, he was probably a useless warrior and smith. He could not "work". What could he turn to, but evil?
Also, I did a piss-poor job describing these knives. Or at least describing the idea in my head. These knives are supposed to be reason that dwarves are in fact no longer fecund. I think I left this a stub because I didn't do a good job transferring this from the brain to the page. Go to Comment
Pretty darn good. I sense a little of Loki in his earlier days in many of these "mysteries". It could also be a faerie of some kind as well. However, since you can take these many different ways... they are totally useful. Nicely done. Go to Comment
I love this kind of sub -- the grab-bag of adventure seeds that a GM can really take off and run with. There are a few which could use tweaking; 16 forces a PC to act in a particular manner and takes the control of that character out of the player's hands, while 48 could really mess with someone's lovingly crafted backstory. Why not make the person in 48 a PC's "godmother" or "aunt"? As for the shield . . . I'd make it so that an animal companion goes missing or an NPC companion is the one tranced out while looking at it. Maybe. You guys could probably think of something better to do with it.
All in all, these are just minor nitpicks on an otherwise fantastic sub. I would love to use these the next time I game. 5/5 Go to Comment
What a fun collection. If I ever get some games going again I can see using some of these as plot seeds and others as just plain evil ways to mess with the PCs. Go to Comment
Interesting. Sea dwarves are an underrated commodity and seaside caves full of dwarven loot are certainly fascinating.an angle I could see played on this would bring in merfolk showing up one day armed not necessarily with the shields, but with other dwarven grave goods, weapons and such. Heavily armed merfolk could probably do a number on ships and human sailors, hacking holes in hulls with potent dwarven axes or hurling hammers that return to their throwers. Go to Comment
