One should hope that most adventurers have more reason than to trust the words of the first peasant they come across, but hey, you never know. :)

If this obstacle is removed, the plot is usable. Go to Comment

I remember this one. Time to correct that no vote or comment!

I really like this one. Very fun, lots of room for growth and change. Good stuff.

The copyright issues between Kassy and Dragon Lord needs to be solved. Things like this has happened before and I am surprised that the community has not taken Dragon Lord seriously and followed up on this. Go to Comment

I take your point Silveressa

Yes, it could well have been an honest mistake - after all, if an idea has been going around your head for a while, it can be diffecult to remember exactly where it came from

Therefore, I'm happy to leave the matter there Go to Comment

Upon reading this, my first thought was "this looks a familiar" - so I had a little look around

Lo and behold, I find this Waylaid on the Road - a "Tales of Adventure" post I submitted in October of last year, which is almost identical to this

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery (and I cannot, in all honesty, claim not to be at least a little bit flattered), I do believe you would do better writing up your own ideas Go to Comment

Not to start a long discussion here or anything, but in all honesty ideas over lap at times, and Kassy's friend may have well read Dragon Lords sub a long time ago (having forgotten all but the basic idea) and thus a similar plot line was invented.

Given most people who attempt to plagiarize someone else's work do so by posting it from an unrelated site, (thus lessening the possibilities of it being discovered as a rip off or by the rightful owner) I find it highly unlikely this is a deliberate "copy" of Dragon Lords sub.
(until today I wasn't even aware of DL's similar sub)

Back OT: I had the enjoyment of running this adventure a short while back, and it's intrigue lent it a large amount of appeal to my player, and she said it was one of the most enjoyable one's she's played in a long time. Go to Comment

Short simple and easily usable. I like the "twenty minute prep" this adventure is capable of, meaning how a gm can read this have a decent scenario ready in about twenty minutes.

The open possibilities also add extra appeal to this since a gm with players that visit Strolens (I'm sure there's quite a few of us.) can still run the encounter without worrying about players knowing the "real story" behind the scenario and thus ruining the fun/challenge of it.

As far as players having more reason that to trust a random villager, one can easily turn this "random villager" into one of the fryers or monks of the temple. (such people are usually of high standing within a community and the minds of most heroes)Or one could use the familiar "one of your friends from adventures a long time ago" (or family member/relative etc..) and hook one or more of the players with a more personal motivation to look into the incident.

Perhaps a little more detail on the demons potential motivation to terrorize this particular out of the way town might be nice enhancement to the plot; such as the head priest being the brother of a prominent clergy man within a kingdom. Or perhaps the town itself being the local stop over point for a overly successful "do gooders" (like maybe the player characters) and the demon has possessed the priest hoping to use the town people as a weapon against by accusing them of being "demons and foul brigands that must be lynched or burned at the stake."

Over all an excellent "plug and play" scenario perfect for a last minute session. (or when the players wander off the beaten path. Go to Comment

Excuse me?, are you implying that i have copied your ideas?

I haven't, because this idea came out of a night of roleplaying with some friends after a few beers, we had a campaign running and my players started to get a little bit sidetracked.

One of them started a little talk with me about an idea he had for a small side story to give everyone a break from the rather exhausting campaign i have going on.

If this is indeed like your post then im sorry if you think im guilty of plaigerism, but i have to admit me and a friend came up with the idea about four weeks ago, and i thought it was a neat little idea so i decided to post it here. Go to Comment

Possibility 4: The demon is after the players themselves, and is trying to con them into killing an innocent man.  Then he can rile the town and possibly the whole area against them.  If the party includes a paladin, expect there to be repercussions for spilling innocent blood -- and that of a priest, no less!  For more intrigue, give the demon some accomplices in the village or in the mission itself.  Perhaps a frier who stands to gain a promotion if he can frame the priest for various misdeeds.

A nice little pick-up sub for when the GM is not prepared. Can be added inside a running scenario.

Cool idea. The fun part of this would be to mix it up a bit, with so many different perspectives that it takes the players awhile to sort out who is telling the truth.

Fine as a stub, though. Kind of a color background to your average "+4 Str" potion.

If one felt up to it, I suppose plenty *more* background could be added to make it a full-fledged post so Cheka can vote on it. But I think it's a lovely stub as-is. Go to Comment
