Could this item also aid in defrauding? Something of its original purpose could stay behind. Go to Comment

Another one of those nice little background items that make the game world believable - and with a great backstory too

I particularly like the subtle, almost unnoticeable, effect

In honor of tomorrow, and the scramble across America to get those 1040's in the mail at the very last minute, I present... magical tax forms! Go to Comment

Brilliant Iain! A well-thought-out game balancing device and an intriguing, individualistic setting too!

Excellent. I definitely prefer masterwork weapons over bland and boring +1 swords! (or +5 swords that can shoot fireballs, etc...)

Plot hook: Transport that "decorative wrought-iron gate for the king's palace", through this terrible swamp. Go to Comment

I love it!
I'm going there right now to get my double-bladed fan-pointed sword with spikes on the blade and a whipping chain that slides out of one end. Go to Comment

One thing I wonder is this - if the swamps are so difficult to pass through, and the island is fertile enough to grow food on (clearly not a rocky outcropping), where do the monks get their metal from in sufficient amounts for some of these listed things, like the gate and such? Do you arrive, tell them what you want, and they send you to fetch supplies? Do they have a secret mine? Does their god provide the metal? Go to Comment

I am just going to get on the praise train here. Well thought out. It has details you can hang things on. Easily adapted to just about any game world.

Two thumbs and a tail up. Go to Comment

I adore this! Very well-thought out, both fantastic and realistic (my favorite kind!)

I imagine that there would be a black-market trade in Moldan metal-work knock-offs. That would be an interesting plot twist.

Bump, a joyful place for PCs to visit. I can picture an adventuring band sitting around a campfire, several days still away from the swamp, feverishly sketching ideas to present to the monks. Go to Comment

People are always dragging my first subs back up from the past. About time I return the favor to someone. :)

Fun one though. I always enjoy these kind of race targeted things. Continues to allow magic weapons to have that unknown to them making the PCs always nervous to be the first one to try a 'new' magic weapon they come across. Go to Comment

Good first submission, I don't think it's awful at all.

You've made a well rounded item, not over powerful, with reasons for it's creation and effects, and none of it system specific. Great job. Go to Comment

Yes, thank you very much.
How could you think it's awful?
The only thing I have to remark on is that the backstory for the item is fairly bland, but that can be remedied.
Hope to see more from you, dude! Go to Comment

During a public holiday in the small town of Wyrmbersch, the Mayor is accidentally killed by a statue which falls from the roof of the Town Hall. As shocked spectators crowd around the body, they discover that the Mayor, at the moment of death, shape-shifted into a squat, stunted humanoid figure, it's grey skin dominated by bony ridges and lumps. How long was the Mayor an imposter? And who else in the town isn't what they seem to be?
