A solid piece, somewhat mundane but likeable. I don't know why but this sub conjures Oriental images (maybe b/c Chinese/Jap garden decorations with rocks?)

Slight quibble, I don't quite understand why you categorise this sub as a continent. These victory mounds might be a common sight on a particular continent in the Canterra setting but surely they are not the continent itself. Go to Comment

I know, occasionally I have the same issue, I've been known to edit subs just b/c later I felt the particular category I submitted it in didn't fit. Yeah, I personally think the Other category fits the Mounds better. Go to Comment

I honestly have a hard time fitting most of my subs into categories. I've changed this into Other - Other. Go to Comment

Like caesar193, I did at first have some doubts when I read the summary, but I'm now glad that I took the time to read it through.

Well done Forganthus! You've made a gem here :) Go to Comment

5/5. Its got an ambivalent cat god, a wrathful rat god, and ineffective PCs. Perfect. Great job with this, Forganthus. At first I kind of thought it would be somewhat silly, or at least a fun little side show to the main quest, but then it started to take a darker and darker turn (while keeping the aforementioned silliness). Its great. Pretty much what the 5/5 says about it. Ill HoH this when I get the chance. Go to Comment

(Killed and eaten cats, argh, I knew it!) This has been one of those rare occasions when I've read through a massive sub, so consider yourself special. This was a really good read though, shockful of interesting stuff, and while I was a bit tempted to deduct 0.5 for all the cat murders, I can't rightly do so, it deserves nothing less than a 5.

And since I am who I am, I also proofread it as I went along;

-

the wizard will be an unhelpful and insulting throughout this adventure

The cats occupy certain streets, but favor the rooftops. The rats occupy some streets, but favor the rooftops. (Shouldn't it be the sewers for the latter?)

by the Longtails stationed outside the church. If the party is sleeps here for the night,

They are extremely stealthy, can run on walls, and can tear a man's throat out faster than he an blink.

and drag the surprised Norvegicus to his death. He didn't know where catacombs down there.

Norvegicus is a wizard with some necromantic talent, and so he has brought has a skeletal guardian. If *he has not been alerted by the noise upstairs

their rat bites will always seem to get infected, and cat monsters will always try a little bit harder to kill him. Additionally, no cat will ever willingly let the PC*s pet them ever again. Such is the fury of a demigod scorned.

Assuming the Norvegicus is dead and no one is a rat,

It's not so bad being a rat. For starters, your mind in unaltered

However, there are about a dozen cats that have no where(*nowhere) to go

He'll also offers his boon--the only boon he ever offers

I agree with Moon that the Holy Fire seems a bit... missing something. However I fail to see how the Green Slime falls under a type of fire. I see it as an extended version of the old school green slime, which you compared it to in the beginning. It has no burning type element of fire instead dissolving every organic thing it contacts creating more of itself. Which, itself is rather nasty and interesting to boot. I just don't see how it falls under the Three types of fire category as the title states. Go to Comment

Ash Fire is a good one!

I see where you're going with the Slime idea. Could make a nice one-nighter... "Surfing the Wave of Slime"

This reminds me of a sub by Scras from some time ago, detailing a few unique types of fire. I'd link it here, but alas, the name of the sub escapes me at the moment. Go to Comment

The Green Slime is fantastic (contains both elements of originality and utility), the Ash Fire is also somewhat new but Holy Fire seems somewhat lack-lustre compared to the other two. Anyway, I still think this is a high quality sub overall. Go to Comment

True, but it fills a lot of the same roles as fire. Acid burns, fire burns, consuming forest and flesh, etc. This sub was the result of a brainstorming session about fire. -0.5 for misleading title, I guess. Go to Comment

Ah, thank you.

My holy fire is similar to your radiant flame. Although I imagine holy fire being pretty religious, with rituals and superstitions, and the seven-fold flame sounds more arcane.

Maybe I should add a paragraph to the end of the holy flame section to elaborate on that. Go to Comment
