Hmmmm.... So they can make everyone happy and bring down the wrath of Cholek upon the village, or capture a mini demon of Cholek's, and bring it to Daerun, but then, if Cholek knew of this, and Daerun, he might slaughter the village and get he h*ll outta there. Either way, the PCs are in a tough fix. Of course, if the PCs are quick about getting the demon to Daerun, then the village may be saved.
Hmmmm.... The setting is perfect, now for the perfect villain... For the question of WHO, why not make it the one in Seceret life of the assasin. That would be sweet. Now for why........ Lets look at the possibilities... A third party wanting to overthrow both religions and become the dominant one, The local insane anarchist, someone that thinks more attention should be paid towards town security and is willing to go to extremes to prove their point, etc. Lots of Possibilites. Despite the fact that I don't like multiple religions and sets of gods, this was a good solid quest that could easily be modified to one's liking. It's a nice tense city atmosphere for the PCs to do their work in, too. One complaint - if it's apparent that someone is setting up the two religions for war, then why are they still mad at each other? Go to Comment
Remember that evil may not be just putting in input like, "Kill the peasant and take the horse, trading is for fools!" But it may also be deceptive andmake defeating or even finding its force difficult. Go to Comment
May be quite tolerable if you manage to defeat forces you do not like. If strongly Good aligned, you surely want to defeat that Evil overlord, and once you do that, the Evil voice stops. May have other powers which might make it desirable(or not so). But what is the item's History? Go to Comment
If it takes too long to get rid of the crown, or if some of the voices aren't silenced, it could drive the wearer insane. ("I do what the voices in my head tell me to.") Or it could just make everyone else think the poor sod is severely schizophrenic. Especially if the character starts conversing out loud with the voices. Go to Comment
This is a quick but not so simple set up. Got a little overly complicated with the addition of the aborted child and all that (had to read it a couple times to figure out which assistant we were talking about) but the sub has a good twist and mystery even without that. Could be simple greed that there can only be one Holy Man/Witch in this here town and so the competition had to be dealt with.
The leader was young and inexperienced when all this happened. But he grew up through the years and regrets very strongly this fault of his youth. Another way of solving may be to publicly announce his failure. If the witches name is redeemed, it may leave. May also cause a heavy loss of trust into the spiritual leader, so better solve that now! Go to Comment
