A great item and a nice contrast to the weather controlling items that are typical for the shards of the storm.

Some interesting bits, though offing the parents cuts out soo much storytelling.

Let your GM off them!

This almost feels like some sort of art piece. He could become something, but right now I get a very vague idea of him. Though I know more about his shaving practices then most NPCs I know of.

And I'm very ambivalent on the whole Bad Example freetext. It feels like the equivalent to a dunce-cap to me.

You could make a pretty good portable stove with just two pieces, each having about 18 square inches of Helspar - just place the pot on the plate and you have smokeless, flameless cookery...

Does this material create the heat it emits or just stores it? If it stores it, will it run out? Go to Comment

I like how it is made from some magic elemental stone, but as mentioned, some real details on how it benefits the wielder would be go. It has great presentation value, but what justifies the effort in creating it? Perhaps it works exceptionally well against earth-aspected opponents? As a focus for earth magic used by the wielder?

A nice item, if a little too good at solving problems for the thief. Hardly sporting to carry an invisible hiding spot with one.

I don't think there is anything missing here at all. This is an admirable one-time tool to do what he suggested. As for who would have such power, a god is an easy answer for that.

As for the secret, well, that would be telling, no? :)

Holey Stone

valadaar's comment on 2013-02-27 02:36 PM
This is another nifty little detail. One could easily have any _naturally_ occurring holey stone have some power over the supernatural in your world, especially given how powerful these types of beings can be compared to a common person. The same way silver is bane to werewolves, and running water is to vampires, a holey stone helps peel back the veil spirits and their like use to hide from humans.

Lake of Rage
Locations  (Area)   (Water)
valadaar's comment on 2007-01-26 11:40 AM
An interesting idea - it can be made non game specific simply by indicating that the drinkers will be affected by magical rage and leave it at that. Timing, how to resist, etc, can be implemented by whoever uses it.

What this post really needs to improve it is _why_ the lake causes rage? Is there an imprisoned evil god buried in the sediment below the waters? Did 100 berserk demons die in a battle eons ago on the site? Etc. Go to Comment
