I like this discussion and the back and forth discussion of the trolls. The fae nature of Trolls is something I'd adopt as well. The rubbery regenerator of AD&D is so much more shallow then these folks.

What a great submission and discussion. It would be neat to see a new artical which summarized and expanded using the commentary.

And what price is paid for casting the Detect Magic?

Perhaps you should apply the uncertainty theorm as well - casting a divination spell will always have an impact of some sort on the target. Go to Comment

Okay, I'd echo Zylithan, but with more force. There is so little different between the white and red that a second post really is not warranted. Go to Comment

Hmm, this one at least feels as if a middle portion has been gutted out from it.

Perhaps transplanting some of the answers provided in the comments might help this post out a bit. Go to Comment

I like this place a lot - and if you have difficulty integrating elves this odd, than simply add them as a different type of elf different from your traditional ones.

I expect these elves would view Tolkienesque elves as no better than half-elves if elves at all.

The piece that stuck out for me was the description of metallurgy and mining as Dwarvethurgy. I like the idea that some basic technologies would have been perfected by other races before humans, and that as a result, their naming may be quite different. The word for Mining in common could be different.

Interesting to think about. Go to Comment

I find Cheka's comment here appropriate - it seems a bit too modern and cosmopolitan for most worlds I've had access to. It does conjure up the Disney feel somewhat. Go to Comment

A useful detail to be added to an adventure - just so happens that something important is in this floodplain, and of course, a flood is coming or in progress when the PCs need to be there.

An update would be nice of course, but it is still a good detail one can use.

You have very many of these Moon, it is true. And too many are unvoted.

This location is evocative and would be a good place to stage a wierd, slow 'chase' scene slogging through the muck...
