For me its the casual use of the Charm Person spell that bothers me. Sure, he needs it due to his downsides, but societies that have access to such magic is going to react to it.

I like it too and there could be many uses for such a device. For example, it could be a good anti-material type weapon - set fire to mantlets, siege equipment and the like, and used to terrible effect against calvary.  Maybe a regular arrow might not cause a war horse to throw a rider, but a red hot one?

A long delayed additional bump. Yes the characters are a little wooden, but that is really okay a lot of the time. Sometimes subtlety is completely lost on players.

I like the idea of making is so the PC's end up facilitating the fall, rather than preventing it.

Cloak of the Daywalker

Personally, I would keep the cloaks to their title - Daywalkers, protecting the wearer from positive energy sources including sunlight. Yes, it may make holy swords less effective, especially when combined with the Vampire's natural immunities - which are pretty powerful by themselves.

I would also make them utterly incompatible with a living wearer, as the negative energy used to provide the protection would infuse the wearer.

Okay Agony - there is some good advice here among the critique. Give it another shot if you would.

I really like this item. Personally, I think that magic items should sometimes arise outside of the efforts of high-level spellcasters. The whim of the gods, magical accidents, by the hands of skilled artisans or the workings of lower power spellcasters. Go to Comment

Now this is an awesome sub. I like the idea of these, and perhaps there are many in the Hells, though it really does not matter how many of them there are. They are the infernal medics.

And Wulf's comments on these along with curative spells provides an avenue for 'evil' clerics to have healing spells - instead of 'poof, you're healed' you summon one or more of these bad boys and they stitch up the damage. Since they are not enhancing, merely repairing, the impact may be reduced, but they would always scar badly when healed in this manner.

Another great NPC with colour and usability, and with plenty of room for additions.

It's a good start - feels a little incomplete. The core idea is interesting, though the motivation of the mages in incorporate the little fellow seems a little weak. Go to Comment

I really like this idea!

Regarding power levels, I would assume that the greater the sound, the greater the power, but I would also consider that the vessel containing the substance would be under stress. Perhaps not of equal intensity, but still increasing with the power level. As a result, truly loud sounds would potentially destroy the vessel, removing the 'filter' effect.

How would it be entertaining except by happen-stance? Did the mages also add a scrying enchantment so they could watch the antics of their victims?

I could see this being somewhat useful, but does not seem to be a terribly efficient means to defeat a mass of enemies. Mess up an individual badly without killing him, sure.

This is a good, simple straightforward item one could use to add spice to a wizard. I would have the 'destruction' or other baleful effect kick in only after a determined effort to open the book in spite of strong resistance.

I can forgive cliche - I tend in that direction from time to time, but the lack of attention paid to spelling and grammar (Again, I am no saint on that front) is somewhat less forgivable. Go to Comment
