Great storyline. Most people would have stopped with a really cool weapon concept but you went that extra, unexpected step.I didn't mind the appearance but anything involving "...the whine of tortured infants.." makes my fatherly skin crawl. Not a criticism, mind you just being a dad. Go to Comment

Not a bad item really but would be pretty campaign specific. Also any game it was effectively used in would either revolve around one character... the descendant of Lord Sky... or involve the players getting messed up. Neither of which ruins the game but both require "understanding " players. Go to Comment
The PCs are walking along the road, when suddenly a bunch of bandits attacks. The player's dismiss it has just a random encounter, when they find an ornate ring on the leader, obviously out of place with the seemingly poor bandits, who could only afford cheap leather and weapons. This ring has a symbol on it, which, if researched, sets the PCs on a quest. And from then on, the players don't look at random encounters the same way...
