Actually in the world setting i run in, all the mages when they reach a certain power level are sought out by an organization called the "tower of troubles", like a mages union. They pay dues and share their research, any non-registered mage is hunted down by the magic hating clerics. I didnt really go into that, because its pretty specific to our world. Go to Comment
