Grothar: Dwarf

Probably because I played him the longest. A miserly, gold loving mercenary dwarf that worshipped the god of chance. He was so infatuated with money that of course he kept track of party treasure...which was never as much as the others thought it was when they gave it to him in the first place.

Once, they had a good run with an earth elemental that just dumped a load of gold on them for helping it with a crisis. Danger was still in the area and everybody was in a hurry to leave but Grothar would not leave till he saw how much they pulled in. A day later Grothar had the tally and his companions had fought off dozens of the enemies they had hoped to evade.

This miserly bit was constantly contradicted by his interpretation of his god of chance. In drunken stupers it was typical for him to wander drunk out of the bar, continue to wander out into the surrounding woods and bury the parties treasure in a random area and then leave in homage to his god. In the morning he would wake up, vaguely remember what he did and ina flurry of yelling and crying storm out to try and find it again. It would be a day of struggle for everybody trying to track and find where the treasure was buried.Chance was NEVER on their side when they tried to find it and I forgot how I convinced them to continue to allow Grothar to carry most of the money. Just had a lot of fun with him. Go to Comment

I don't think there will be any complaints about submissions for each type. If you can pick your top couple, I am sure that is doable. Go to Comment

I nearly spit my drink a half dozen times....and haven't really read the entire sub. In my current state it got too complex once the second clergy was added. I need to print and study it, but the bastard running this site has no "print" button so what the hell!?

Still, I think this is a fantastic idea and probably due a change to the wiki since the deadbeat webmaster finally made that at least.

No vote because I need time to figure it out. However I KNOW it is a HoH post so done! Go to Comment

Plug and play constellations and legends. Outstandingly useful! Something that should be used in any campaign just for that extra flavor while you spend yet another night of "I will take first watch." Now you can throw some interesting details in there about the sky and the legends that surround it. I love the thought of that opportunity. Go to Comment

Combined with the rest, this quickly become pretty neat. As a standalone though it is just the most basic of overview of the mages.

Oooh, I like this one a lot!! Oh, the temptation of the unguarded gem in the beggar's hall. A great "prank" to pull on a new thief trying to enter the guild....or on a PC...or on a..... Go to Comment

Powerful wizards guild, that I get. But that is about all I get. I can probably gather more from some of the comments and if I spent time reading the linked ones, but for this stand alone, it is missing the useful information to actually use it. This is more of a player handout or bar rumor without really telling you anything about the guild and their purpose.

I like where it is going, but I am not sure this one gets there. Go to Comment

Damn, the guilt is just dripping off of me right now.

Many times I speed read through stuff just to get the general idea and don't really give much thought to commenting sometimes. Crap, I must turn my wicked ways! Go to Comment

It must be fate that brought me here. Just today I repledged my lazy bones to 5 comments/votes a day. This is my 4th one that I just used the random submission on the right link list to choose what I would read.

You are 100% right and I agree with you. While the submissions are what drive the site, it is the comments and interaction that I think drive the subs. Would many people really put stuff up here if there wasn't feedback? Go to Comment

Cool story that tells the tale of the gateway. Me likey. The sense of impending doom for them all is darn good atmosphere that allows us to just accept the wall and its faults. Go to Comment

I like the idea of them. I imagine they would be on the top of castles or keeps of the rulers when not in use on the battlefield. I would assume that their magic continues no matter where they are. Neat. Go to Comment

Alignment:
Idly imagining if some wondrous event may take place if all the flags were brought within a mile of each other or put into some other kind of alignment. I felt the need to believe that these were obviously made to be used together for some larger purpose. Perhaps the configuration would do something dramatic but I have no idea what or how many possible alignments there are causing some number of different affects. My mind wants to make ideas but I can't come up with any. Go to Comment

I like it! I almost asked for more but I am not sure what I would ask for. The core idea is solid and would be fun to play. Since there is no huge affect on the world it is rather benign and more like a novelty...a really awesome novelty. Just one of those awesome things you come across that continues to puzzle you way after the experience. Go to Comment

That would be one awkward office party. If I was Jimmy I would do the books myself after the 4th accountant was caught skimming, my 3rd girl was killed and after I was almost murdered twice. Jimmy doing the books sure would show them. ;)
