Unique and refreshing, something I can see useful in my next Shadowrun campaign. For a more oriental/chi based approach one coudl also have it impart a certain amount of feminime/masculine chi energy to the consumer as well depending on the gender, and mental disipline of the victim.
Perhaps inheriting (temporarily) a small amount of skill the entree possessed in life would add another layer of use and appeal to the grill as well, beyond simple attribute improvement? (Of course to glean skill one may need to consume the prepared body parts used in performing said skill, biceps/pecs for swordmanship or blacksmithing, fingers for lockpcking, the tongue for spell weaving, etc..)
An interiesting concept, although the opening tale does irk the evil gm side of me a bit. Granted the flame would not kill Sarya's bowmen now the number had been met, surely the flames would still have set fire to their equipment, and horribly disfigured them none the less?
(Granted they may not have been able to die from fire, but bieng burnt tortured shadows of their former selves for the rest of their lives, or dying from secondary infections to the burns/smoke inhaliation is how my evil GM side would make the end battle turn out, just to remind players that twisting fate does not always result in victory, merely a different kind of loss.)
Then again the truth behind the legend could well have become buried in the past and exaggerated into the current form; which is a way to hide the horrific truth.
Opening legend aside, I like the premise behind the festival, and can imagine a group of unwitting PC's stumbling into the town on festival day, enjoying the celebration only to find out later what the celebration is all about, and the hideous deaths those guilty of relatively minor crimes will be facing at the end of the festival. (Certain to spur some heroic action and tug on morals, especially those with a soft spot for good hearted rogues.)

Fun sub, and something I can see myself using next time I run a fantasy campaign.
Interesting, but difficult to really do anything with on its own. Compared to the Bucky Batteries that brimmed with possible applicaitons and uses in a sci fi game, this one feels a little open and shut.
A good GM can use this as the explaination behind sudden emergence of AI in an characters computer/ship/etc.. or it could work well as the spring board to an Ai related sub plot, but over all it's application feels somewhat limited in scope.
Well written though, it can be tough to deliver something in only 100 words that feels complete.

Nasty and vile, certain to add more life to the slums and foul depths of the world. After running into a few of these varities most characters will pay careful attention the casual description of flies buzzing about the manure cart or decaying corpse.
Honestly I'm not a big fan of the old cartoon Transformers, mostly becuse the concept of shape shifting robts that mimic everyday vehicles never really stuck me as "fun" or engaging/realistic on a "mature intellectual level." (The movies were good however, but nothing like the old school cartoon.)
With that said, the way you lay this concept out makes it sound really fun, and makes me want to roll up a bot and give it a go, not something I was expecting when I began to read the sub!. 8)
I guess perhaps its the way the Artifical intelligence programming is laid out in the rules that make it sound more appealing, and gives some structure to the concept making ti less of a "make stuff up" feeling and grounds them a bit more firmly in pusedo science.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this, great work so far!
This one deserves the full sub treatment, there's too much potential to cover in a mere 100 words when it comes to something so complex.

As a inspiration for a quick window dressing in a scifi setting it's good to go, but I would dearly love to see more of this, it's the start of something special.
A few alternate wide spread uses for them:
-Gravity plating on starships: A nice emergency back up to keep gravity functioning at .3-.6 G's or so during a catastrophic system failure. While far from earth normal being able to move about normally allows crews to better effect repairs then attempting to maneuver in zero gravity.
Atmospheric terraforming equipment Perfect to run the gargantuan terraforming installations on uninhabitable worlds, as these batteries take very little maintenance, and will operate the terrafomring equipment reliably for the 100+ years it takes to turn a plant habitable. (and keep it that way.)

Escape pods: While not generally the primary power supply, a bucky battery can provide sufficent power to a cryo capsule and maintain it's functionality for immense time spans, perfect to allow ample time for the pod to be rescued, or travel as slower then light speeds to an inhabitable planet. (Something that could take decades if not centuries depending on the location it is launched from and end velocity.)
A nice short and simple sub with widespread implications and use in a scifi world. Creative characters/players can no doubt find plenty of way to use "bucky bats" to optomize their ship and/or equipment.
A intuitive Gm can find plenty of places they would come in handy to make spacefaring society run smoothly.
Inthe vast gulf between stars, or in areas where the sun is nearly dead (brown dwarf style) solar energy may not prove sufficient compared to one of these batteries.
The other downside to Solar panels is they can prove somewhat fragile in an area with frequent asteroid showers, and would also be somewhat useless to power a terraforming tower if it is terraforming a world with an atmosphere too thick for sunlight to effectively penetrate.Go to Comment
Wow, very indepth and complete, I was expecting something shorter, but it just kept going, with mroe and more useful info to paint a complete picture of these parasites. (whcih is a good thing by the way.)
Very veristile and quite nasty, they make for a great take on "space zombie" and excellent example of non carbon based life forms that are truly alien in their outlook and goals.
The multiple evolutionary options are a nice touch, and they can be easily adapted to a fantasy setting with minimal effort.

A low end god that is sure to be feared by all who become aware of his existence. An interesting enhancement a GM can easily drop into their fantasy game with minimal effort.
(I was going put some ideas here but will add them as ideas to the sub itself, very inspirations and unique!)
Word reaches a character one of their relatives (or a romantic interest) died in their sleep while having a horrible nightmare and now their soul resides within one of Tihewgoe creations.
Attempting to find and free the spirit is a matter of familial obligation, perhaps with the possiblity of resurrection of their loved one if the spirit can be recovered in time.
The Cult of Nightmares
While Tihewgoe doesn't actively seek followers, a group of mostly harmless cultists who have become aware of his existance have beugn to worship him anyway, some even enjoying the terror his nightmares inflict upon them. (similar to how people enjoy hearing ghost/horror stories around the campfire for the thrill of it.)
This cult of nightmare lovers is now the object of latest thrill within the city, a challenge to all those who feel themselves brave enough to endure the dark embrace of the mystically chained Foadjik the cult keep in thrall in their underground resting place.
Those who can subject themselves to their nightmares and not wake screaming or wet clothes are given the highest honor among their fellow brave hearts; and treated with the respect often reserved for veteran warriors. (Indeed a visit to the cult of nightmares is even rumored to be a rite of passage among some mercenary groups and knight orders.
More recently there have been rumors of the cult drugging members sick and close to death into a coma, then exposing them to the Foadjik until their passing, praying for Tihewgoe to extend his blessings and create yet another of his minions.
