A list of riddles is always nice to have when playing, as paswords or as tests. Go to Comment
King Hakhon sus Scoria
NPCs  (Major)   (Political)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-04-13 04:06 AM
A beast of a man, a worthy adversary for liberal adventurers, or a valuable patron of more amoral & ruthless groups. This king and his kingdom offer many opportunities for adventures, whether as background or more directly. Go to Comment
The Chosen
Lifeforms  (Constructed)   (Any)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-04-03 06:58 PM

A very nice idea, with good flavor text, but can use some more detail. These Samahen definately need some explanation, and is the manner of creation of the Chosen truly magical, or something pseudo-scientific? And what were the wars these hulking brutes were used in?

The Shardis Gaols

Phaidros's comment on 2012-04-05 12:54 PM

Creepy prison, with many relevant details yet vague enough to be easy to fit to any setting. Seems to be a good place to "cool down" abusive PCs, and end up with a new adventure. Now where is that list of interesting prisoners?

Great race, very well for any space opera.

Almost a pity the cult is gone, it would have been a nice adventure if the cultists decided to invite the adventures for dinner...

The Festival of Prataan
Systems  (Divine/ Spirit)   (General)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-03-02 09:43 AM
Brutal, but unfortunately something quite realistic. In real life, murders sanctioned by the government, have been committed for less. I imagine that before the festival, diviners try to predict what kind of deaths can be expected, to improve the "efficiency" of the festival. Of course, if they end up wrong, they are the first "volunteers" for the next festival... Go to Comment
A Field Guide to Werewolves - Lycan
Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)

Please continue! The only downpoint is that the name Lycan and similar reminds me of the disasters that are the Underground-movies... Go to Comment
A Field Guide to Werewolves - Hexenwolf
Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Any)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-02-27 05:02 PM
Was it not traditional for werewolves to have a vest made from a wolvespelt? Another common element in were-lore is that the transformed leaves behind his human skin, and if said skin was destroyed, he could not change back into human. Go to Comment

Ambitious, but a good idea! Will you also include weres other than wolves? I have had some very memorable experiences with wererats and werebears. I hope for more! Go to Comment

Phaidros's comment on 2012-02-27 05:15 PM
Nice character, with a nice Call of Cthulhu vibes; but posting character stats? Bad Mojo, dude.

The character makes an interesting villain, but to get rid of the demon, he either has to totally redeem himself, or find a bigger demon..... Go to Comment
Abydos

Phaidros's comment on 2012-02-12 12:52 PM
A bit cynical but otherwise an excellent adventurers' trap... Just surviving the new Abydos before setting of for the Necropolis, is an adventure in itself. 5/5 Go to Comment
Hanetta's Millstone
Items  (Tools)   (Magical)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-02-08 06:37 AM
An original item, provisions are often a forgotten part of adventuring. I would have like some more details in the description, this can not to just plain stone, and maybe some unique recipes that can only be made with this magical mill. Gold bread for the king, bone cookies for the necromancer? Go to Comment
The Hemangini Flying Squirrel
Lifeforms  (Fauna)   (Mountains)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-01-27 02:03 PM
The natural consumers of Hemangini nuts I presume? This nicely anticipates a question regarding the trees: if you have naturally evolved plants using metal, it is very likely you have an ecosystem that uses metal. These squirrels can crack the metal nuts, are in turn hunted upon by silver foxes and copper falcons, who are in turn hunted by iron wolves or mithral eagles, etcetera. Of course, any species that literally eats money is in big trouble - though I can imagine a rogue setting some of these squirrels free in the vault of someone who did not pay the protection money.... Hemangini Tree
Lifeforms  (Flora)   (Any)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-01-26 12:25 PM
Ws there not already a tree like this on this site? I imagine elves would like these trees; this way they can get their metals without ugly mining, dwarves of course rather mine. Maybe the few rare dwarven druids would cultivate a few of these trees In a scify-setting trees like these would be alien fauna or the product of advanced bioengineering. Maybe growing on the old ruines of our civilization.... Go to Comment

Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Space)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-01-22 08:28 AM
Truly good space-zombie variant. And the background story is great too. The only things I wonder about is whether the wireless network the crystals form can be interrupted or even be hacked, and whether it is possible to cure an infected person. Go to Comment

Lifeforms  (Intelligent Species)   (Space)
Phaidros's comment on 2012-01-23 11:01 AM
A new question: do I read it correctly that cold-blooded creatures do not "activate" the srpores? If there are cold-blooded aliens, than these might carry spores without knowing it (or so they say...) Meanwhile, survivors of these zombies might become quite paranoid about dust and glittering particles. Go to Comment

Decent, deserves to be expanded upon. The art remembers me of Ancient Indian temples, the martyred aspect has a Christian vibe. Go to Comment
