"It does not hurt. Excellent. A villain should have a good reason to be so. Dehumanized mad killers are boring, while Forge has a vision... through evil bring forth good, through death life. A rotten forest that burns down only fertilizes the soil for new growth, right?

A thought... it will display the nearest valuable thing ... valuable to WHOM? Unless the user has freat self-control and wisdom ,it might show teddies lost by (now helplessly sobbing) children, displaced wedding rings - or even a heap of dung, if the patch picks up the needs of a dung-beetle or fly. As for Esther - she is not as lost as Regdar and Mialee. It could even be a great roleplaying opportunity for a PC priest, pally or monk, either a very reasonable man or a strong lady, teaching Esther that the perfection consists of an unity between mind and body, Just bodily perfection is not enough.
Or, the PCs could try to achieve a delicate mission, with combat being absolutely useless, even detrimental to it, and with Esther interfering.

you know, this is the same tune you played to Regdar. I know, they fit well together, but the similarities are too great (most of all the 'a wizard doing most of the spellcasting for her') - I'd say she might be a competent wizard, prone to flaunting her power and humbling male wizards ('you call THAT demon summoning?! Hey, most magic items will be made by wizards, as there is little risk of Joe the Farmboy suddenly enchanting his plow. Thus, the 'wizard made it' is the default setting, and unless you want the very creation of the item to be special, assume 'a wizard made it'.

You know, GURPS has gone a long way to display a different Dark Elf - they are elves, mentally and physically the same, just for one aspect: the Dark Elves believe the Elves to be the only sentient race, and all the other races are just vermin to them, vermin that infest mother Earth. There is a need to vipe out the vermin so that Nature may prosper.
