This fit perfectly with an adventure I was working on. I anticipated a demon or something hiding in the city, but a creature without an agenda other than to exist is brilliant. Go to Comment
My only objection is its ability to never truly die. Perhaps it could be killed in a very hard to accomplish manner? I think this is an awesome idea and will definitely find a way to use it, but I may give it some obscure way to be truly killed. Go to Comment
I really like these trees and the concepts you've spun here. Definitely something I'm going to be incorporating into my own campaign pretty soon. This post has so much potential. Go to Comment
A very nice submission with colorful detail. I love the link to the Treller vines. Adds a lot of flavor. I had to read the entry again, after imagining the vines on the top. When did they show up? Have they been around since the beginning? Go to Comment
I must be missing something, but I've read it twice, so here goes: Why are the people trying to 'hide' from the dragon. Surely he knows that they are still there. He's destroyed the place a couple of times now (at least) and the sheep have to come from somewhere. Do they believe that they can remain in hiding? Go to Comment
This post has a nice flavor and gives a bit of a view into the city. Personally, I would like to see more detail and would have to add such before I could incorporate it into my own campaign.
Here are some thoughts/ideas:
How do they handle the river running through town? Do they have bridges? Do sailing ships sail down the river? Do they have a small port for these ships?
How old is the city? Is it packed within the city walls? Does newer part of the city outside the walls? If it is an older city, is there more than one layer of walls? Is there open space within the walls.
If they have buildings that so easily burn, do they do anything to prevent it? Is there clear dividing lines between the rich and the less rich?
What is the High Hallow of Mitras? Why was the ground under it built up? Was it built on the ruins of some other important structure? Is it a major focal point for the surrounding area?
I think this is an interesting idea that has potential. However, I have some questions:
-What is the mental state required for the creature? How do they maintain that state if the berry changes their mental state?
-What exactly do you mean by “frenzied†mental state? Do they become crazy, violent, or just highly excitable?
-Once activated, is it possible to remove the paste and store it in some other fashion?
-Is an equal amount of each paste required to create the explosion? Or will one drop of activated red paste cause an entire humanoid covered with white paste to explode?
This entry is nice in it's scalability. I that almost as much as the scenario presented. Good work. Perhaps some day more work could go into fleshing out the organizations history. Go to Comment
Very nice post and I definitely agree with Iain on the growth issue. There diverse training is a good way to keep them thought highly of by the public too. Go to Comment
An interesting organization and I plan to use an adaptation in my own campaign. Perhaps allowing a method of reversing it, but at a heavier cost. Good work. Go to Comment
You said that after a certain time, the potion gives negative effects? Perhaps it's just my sadistic players, but they would find more use of it as that. Since you can only use the potion for positive effects once, does the negative effect only happen once? Does the negative effect fade over time as well? Does it get worse? Go to Comment
There is quite an array of non-humans running around in this village. You might want to consider toning down the non-humans and turning this into a mythical place that may or may not really exist...just some thoughts. Go to Comment
