If ever you need a random-roll for what type of knight a character faces in tournament, or just new ideas, what follows is a great big list (some with further descriptions and nicknames) of different sorts of knights.

Some of the names of locations & faiths are from Midian, but these are easily changed to fit different campaign settings.

These Trolls travel land and sea in an eternal search for their next war. The Host of Battle—for they have no other name for themselves—is part mercenary army, part ethnicity.

Though several copies are known to exist, ultimately this is the title of a singular book.  It sits in the office of The Librarian—the Demon that oversees the Library of Citadel.  The Concise Compendium of Codices contains a listing of every known book ever printed.

This millennia-old book is one of the most famous books of prophecy in all of the realms, second only to the Book of the Cannon itself, and takes the front seat in the minds of most as the quintessential book foretelling the future.

Midian is a dark fantasy game. Most churches in Midian are moral belief structures & guidelines rather than a system that contains a deific figurehead (or many such) and an afterlife.

Gregory Merchant is an art dealer in Daggersford. He is well-versed in art, history, and art history, but rarely brings these subjects up other than in context of a sale.  His sales technique is very low-pressure, and he is content to let people browse his shop. There are a few small statues available, but the shop focuses on paintings of various sizes, values, and significance. He seems perpetually distracted.  Is it a ruse?

While travelling through an unfamiliar area of the city at night, it it easy for one to become quite lost.  Though this is an upper-class residential neighbourhood just east of downtown, the streets wind, twist, and turn in upon themselves in a rather chaotic fashion.

The wealthy landowners of Ardales began to grow personal gardens on their flat rooftops.  The shade helped cool the buildings. The competition renewed among the aristocracy for the lushest garden.  Over time, the increased population caused an increase in building density, especially in the city’s heart.

The religious assassins known as the revenants are some of the most effective killers in Midian.

... some invaders come full-force, and are a previous unknown to the current inhabitants.  Either way, the world will change.

Chae lives to serve, and ultimately die in that service, if need be.  As a Bushi-Killian warrior in the service to Lord Kim, he focuses upon his given missions & tries very hard to stay part of the crowd. When on assignment, Chae is a relentless, dedicated, slayer of men.

Sharry is a typical Formourian street urchin.  Her name is a corruption of her given name, Michele of Ryanhold (where she’s from).  She gets by on scrounging for scraps, begging, and the occassional opportunistic theft.

Crunk is a typical sailor aboard the privateer Blue Raider.  The ship sails from Formour, but like most of its crew, Crunk is from Osterre.  As a Half-Orck, Crunk always has something to prove, and a chip on his shoulder large enough to throw his posture off.

The work is being done on the largest temple of Stryfe ever constructed.  So massive is this project, that it could not have been placed within the city’s walls without displacing a large portion of Gnopolis’s inhabitants.
